Veterans' Day Message
From Gordon R. England
Secretary of the Navy
11 November 2004
America is not just a place; rather, it is an ideal, a profound
ideal that all people should live in freedom and liberty. These
are not innate rights. Freedom and liberty have to be earned,
protected and defended by every generation. As President Reagan
said, "Freedom is never more than one generation away from
extinction."
For 229 years, Americans of all races, colors, creeds and social
positions have stepped forward in time of need to protect this
ideal. Veterans Day is the time for our Nation to reflect on
the sacrifices of these generations of veterans and a time to
say thanks for their service.
Today, we find ourselves once again protecting the American
ideal of freedom and liberty for all people. The magnificent
men and women who wear the cloth of our Nation, tomorrow's
veterans, have taken up the mantle of responsibility to keep
America safe for us and for future generations.
We are in an age of great promise, but also an age of great
danger – an age when liberty can be expanded but also a time of
deadly global terror. It is a historic moment for our Nation, a
moment that will demand much of our citizens and especially of
our military.
With great clarity of vision and unwavering resolve, President
Bush has expressed our responsibility this way, "The advance of
freedom is the calling of our time, and the calling of our
country. We believe that liberty is the design of nature. We
believe that liberty is the direction of history … and we
believe that the freedom we prize is not for us alone, it is the
right and capacity of all mankind." As President Bush later
said, "We will finish the work of democracy that we have begun."
To all of our veterans who have given us this great gift of
freedom and liberty and to all of the men and women who today
wear the cloth of our Nation and are defending these freedoms
and liberties, thank you for your dedication, devotion,
sacrifice and commitment to our Nation's ideal.
God bless all of our veterans, those serving today and their
families.

Ivory Coast

This is in no terms supporting France overall....but why is the UN backing them up for blowing the crap out of people over just the death of 9 soldiers? So, it is okay for the UN to allow France to do that...but not the USA? BULLSHIT!

And this is over what...oil...NO....cocoa plants....chocolate and coffee! So I guess chocolate and coffee is more important these days...maybe to a programmer or a woman on her period...but come on now....

However....you don't see anyone in the US media giving a CRAP about thousands of Africans being slaughtered day in and day out....

This is another CIVIL WAR France tried to get involved in....mmmmm...I think you all remember how the other one eneded when France tried to get involved....

And, who is there HELPING France again...WE ARE! Besides we need to get our people the hell out of there....the rebels want to kill all the white people no matter what country of origin! Frankly don't blame them....BUT do BLAME France for screwing this one up AGAIN....

Hey France...just because you had the colony of the ivory coast before...doesn't mean you can go back !

Some election fallout....

It wasn't soon after early voting began in Texas that complaints started to roll in. E-mail messages and phone calls about straight-ticket Democratic votes mysteriously being switched by the electronic machines to Republican votes. Conspiracy theories flew.
Susan Gates, executive director of the Harris County Democratic Party, doesn't think there was a conspiracy -- "If they were going to manipulate it, they would do it where it would look like you were voting correctly but you weren't," she says -- but that doesn't mean things went smoothly.
The electronic machines are "not user-friendly," she says, adding that "it is very easy to make mistakes on it, not really knowing what you are doing. People panic. They don't always ask for help," she says.
One e-mail going around: "My 88-year-old mother voted yesterday at a library in San Antonio. She entered the booth, punched the machine for Kerry and Bush's name appeared as the one she voted for. She did that three times and each time Bush's name came up."
Court Koenning, executive director of the Harris County GOP, says there's no evidence to the claims. "The Democrats are trying to set up a legal issue because they don't have the votes," he says. "That's sad, but that's in their handbook."
In case you are worried about all this, the spokesman for Harris County Clerk Beverly Kaufman says there is just nothing to it.
"I don't want to slam anyone in particular, but when individuals who are active in political parties get together and start talking, a lot of times rumors become myths and myths become a little more toward fiction, and then fiction becomes fact," says David Beirne.
So that's two of three officials saying no problem -- the head of the county GOP and the county's official vote-counter, Kaufman. Who is, well, a Republican.
So stop worrying, willya?

Lets here it for LSU.....

A company was looking to hire someone for an important position, so
they interviewed dozens of applicants and narrowed their search down to
three people from different parts of regional area.
In an attempt to pick one of them, they decided to give them all the
same question to answer within 24 hours, and the one with the best
answer would get the job.
The question was:
A man and a woman are in bed, nude.
The woman is lying on her side with her back
facing the man, and the man is lying on his
side facing the woman's back.
What is the man's name?
After the 24 hours was up, the three were brought in to give their
answers.
The first from Auburn, says "My answer is, there IS no answer."
The second, from Texas A&M, says "My answer is, that there is no way to
determine the answer with the information we were given."
The third one was a Cajun from LSU and says "I'm not exactly sure, but
I have it narrowed down to two names. It's either: "Willie Turner or
Willie Nailer."
The coonass got the job !!!!!

Teresa?

Friends,
Acquired this forward and after reading I think I would rather stick with Laura Bush as First Lady of U. S. of America she is native born.
Subject: Teresa Heinz-Kerry
Maria Teresa Thiersten Simoes-Ferreira Heinz Kerry married Senator
John Kerry in 1995. She only took his name eighteen months ago and she is
an "interesting" paradox of conflicts.
If you thought John Kerry was scary, he doesn't hold a candle to his
wife! Maria Teresa Thiersten Simoes-Ferreira Heinz Kerry was born in
Mozambique, the daughter of a Portuguese physician, was educated in Switzerland and South Africa. Fluent in five languages, she was working as a United
Nations interpreter in Geneva in the mid-60's when she met a "handsome" young
American, H. John Heinz, III, who worked at a bank in Geneva. He told
her his family was "in the food business."
They were married in 1966 and returned to Pittsburgh where his family
ran the giant H. J. Heinz food company. He was elected to the US House of
Representatives in 1971, and in 1976 he was elected to the first of
three terms in the United States Senate. A Republican, he wrote a burning
diatribe against some of the causes backed by young House member John
Kerry.
Several years later, in 1991, he was killed when his plane collided
with a Sun Oil Company helicopter over a Philadelphia suburb. The senator, his
pilot and copilot, and both of Sun's helicopter pilots were killed. He
was survived by his wife, Teresa, and their three young sons.
Four years later, having inherited Heinz's $500 million fortune, she
married Senator John Forbes Kerry, the liberal then-junior senator from
Massachusetts. She became a registered Democrat and the process of her
radicalization was set in motion.
Heinz Kerry is not shy about telling people that she required Kerry to
sign a prenuptial agreement before they were married. John Kerry may not
have check writing privileges on the Heinz catsup and pickle fortune, but he
is certainly a willing and uncomplaining beneficiary of it.
A lot of hard-earned money, made through many years of hawking catsup,
mustard, and pickles has fallen into the hands of two people who
despise successful entrepreneurship and who believe in the confiscatory
redistribution of wealth.
So how does Mrs. Heinz Kerry spend John Heinz's money? Just one
example:
According to the G2 Bulletin, an online intelligence newsletter of
WorldNetDaily, in the years between 1995-2001 she gave more than $4
million to an organization called the Tides Foundation. And what does the Tides
Foundation do with John Heinz's money?
They support numerous antiwar groups, including Ramsey Clark's
International Action Center. Clark has offered to defend Saddam Hussein when he's
tried.
They support the Democratic Justice Fund, a joint venture of the Tides
Foundation and billionaire hate-monger George Soros. The Democratic
Justice Fund seeks to ease restrictions on Muslim immigration from "terrorist"
states.
They support the Council for American-Islamic Relations, whose leaders
are known to have close ties to the terrorist group, Hamas.
They support the National Lawyers Guild, organized as a communist front
during the Cold War era. One of their attorneys, Lynne Stewart, has
been arrested for helping a client, Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, communicate
with terror cells in Egypt. He is the convicted mastermind of the 1993 World
Trade Center bombing.
They support the "Barrio Warriors," a radical Hispanic group whose
primary goal is to return all of Arizona, California, New Mexico, and Texas to
Mexico.
These are but a few of the radical groups that benefit, through the
anonymity provided by the Tides Foundation, from the generosity of our
would-be first lady, the wealthy widow of Republican senator John
Heinz, and now the wife of the Democratic senator who aspires to be the 44th
President of the United States.
Aiding and supporting our enemies is not good for America, regardless
of your political views.
If voters will open their eyes, educate themselves and see the real
Teresa Heinz Kerry, they will not appreciate her position as ultra rich fairy
godmother of the radical left. They will not want to imagine her
laying her head on a pillow each night inches away from the President of the
United States.
Hopefully they love this country enough to decide that the only way
these two will ever be allowed into the White House is with an engraved
invitation in hand.
Instead of deleting this, pass it on. Let everyone know these people
are unfit to represent this great nation. The uninformed will never hear
the truth from the press, who wants Kerry elected!
Those who buy the Kerry facade, beware what you vote for - - - you may
regret that you got it!

How do you tell the difference between .........

How do you tell the difference between Democrats, Republicans, and
Southerners?

Pose the following question:

You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small
children.
Suddenly, a dangerous looking man with a huge knife comes around the
corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, raises the knife, and
charges. You are carrying a Glock 40, and you are an expert shot. You have mere
seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do?

Democrat Answer:

Well, that's not enough information to answer the question.

Does the man look poor or oppressed?

Have I ever done anything to him that could inspire him to attack?

Could we run away?

What does my wife think?

What about the kids?

Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of
his hand?

What does the law say about this situation?

Does the Glock have appropriate safety built into it?

Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does
this send to society and to my children?

Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me?

Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound
me?

If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while
hewas stabbing me?

Should I call 9-1-1?

Why is this street so deserted?

We need to raise taxes, have a paint and weed day and make this a
happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior.

Republican Answer:

BANG!

Southerner's Answer:

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
click....
(sounds of reloading).
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! click.

Daughter: "Nice grouping, Daddy! Were those the Winchester Silver
Tips??"

ConfusionThis was passed on to me, but I can't understand it. Maybe you can,I'm trying to get all this political stuff straightened out in my ZZZ head so I'll know how to vote come November.

Right now, we have one guy saying one thing. Then the other guy says something else. Who to believe.
Lemme see; have I got this straight?
Clinton awards Halliburton no-bid contract in Yugoslavia - good...
Bush awards Halliburton no-bid contract in Iraq - bad...
Clinton spends 77 billion on war in Serbia - good...
Bush spends 87 billion in Iraq - bad...
Clinton imposes regime change in Serbia - good...
Bush imposes regime change in Iraq - bad...
Clinton bombs Christian Serbs on behalf of Muslim Albanian terrorists -good...
Bush liberates 25 million from a genocidal dictator - bad...
Clinton bombs Chinese embassy - good...
Bush bombs terrorist camps - bad...
Clinton commits felonies while in office - good...
Bush lands on aircraft carrier in jumpsuit - bad...
No mass graves found in Serbia - good...

Milosevic not yet convicted - good...
Saddam turned over for trial - bad...
Ahh, it's so confusing!

Every year an independent tax watchdog group analyzes the average tax burden on Americans, and then calculates the "Tax Freedom Day". This is theday after which the money you earn goes to you, not the government. Thisyear, tax freedom day was April 11th. That's the earliest it has been since1991.It's latest day ever was May 2nd, which occurred in 2000. Notice anythingspecial about those dates?

Recently, John Kerry gave a speech in which he claimed Americans are actually paying more taxes under Bush, despite the tax cuts. He gave no explanation and provided no data for this claim.

Another interesting fact: Both George Bush and John Kerry are wealthymen. Bush owns only one home, his ranch in Texas. Kerry owns 4 mansions, all worth several million dollars. (His ski resort home in Idaho is anold barn brought over from Europe in pieces. Not your average A-frame). Bush paid $250,000 in taxes this year; Kerry paid $90,000. Does that sound right? The man who wants to raise your taxes obviously has figured out a way to avoid paying his own.

Pass this on. Only a few days until the election.
